Telephone System Integration - Analog DID
DPD International offers a range of third party, fax modem solutions for connecting GoldFax to any telephone environment: analog, analog DID, digital T1/E1, and Fax Over IP.
Receiving faxes over Analog DID phone lines
GoldFax can connect up to one or more analog phone lines or extensions through a fax modem through a fax modem board (Dialogic Brooktrout) that is inside your server. The phone connection uses the same type of plug that a phone uses (RJ11). The phone cable from the fax modem can go into a wall plug or into a connection in your PBX telephone room.
Analog DID or BRI ISDN fax boards
Analog DID fax boards are available with 2 or 4 fax line connections (1 DID and 1 regular analog loop start line, 2 DID and 2 regular analog loop start lines). The speed can be V.17 (14.4Kps) or V.34 (33.6 Kps).
Analog DID telephone lines are specially ordered by your telephone service provider. They have multiple phone numbers assigned to a single analog DID phone line. Analog DID lines are inbound only.
Receiving faxes is just as easy. The fax modem / board answers the phone call, gets the fax pages that were sent, passes it to GoldFax which converts it into a PDF or TIFF image. The fax can be sent to a specific user's mailbox, email distribution list, network folder, GoldFax Client Inbox, or any network printer.
Analog DID fax modems
GoldFax can route faxes received based on DID numbers or DTMF tones from your PBX telephone system directly to people's email Inboxes or to specific folders on your network.
Other fax modems
GoldFax also supports most Class 2 fax modems.
